Mohali, August 1: The Punjab government has expanded its flagship welfare initiative, the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojna, adding Vrindavan, Khatu Shyam Ji, Salasar Ji, and Rishikesh to its official itinerary starting August 1.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the extension during a devotional assembly in Mohali, stating that special transport buses will operate across all twenty-two districts to facilitate smooth travel for citizens. The administration will oversee complete arrangements, including pick-up from pilgrims’ homes, secure transport, meals, and overnight accommodation.
“Our communal harmony is like a beautiful bouquet where the crop of love and togetherness flourishes, not the seeds of hatred,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated in an official communication.
The Chief Minister asserted that the administration remains dedicated to governance focused on public service and infrastructure development. He noted that alongside spiritual travel programs, ongoing state projects include expanding canal irrigation, constructing 44,000 kilometers of roads, providing transparent government employment, and deactivating toll plazas to ease the financial burden on commuters.
He affirmed that social cohesion remains robust across Punjab, where people of diverse faiths participate in public celebrations together, reinforcing peace and mutual respect throughout the region.
