Noida, August 4: A severe fire at an electronic chip manufacturing plant in Greater Noida claimed the lives of two fire department personnel and left three others wounded following a structural collapse late Monday night.

Emergency forces responded swiftly to the ILGIM company plant in the Ecotech-3 industrial zone, deploying a fleet of six fire engines to bring the spreading flames under control.

Disaster struck during the firefighting effort when an internal wall coupled with a massive iron beam caved in, crushing five firefighters beneath the fallen material.

The victims were swiftly transported to the hospital for emergency care, where Fireman Rohit Yadav and Head Constable Driver Tirathpal later passed away due to the severity of their wounds.

Providing details on the surviving personnel, a police representative maintained that Head Constable Driver Rajpal Singh, alongside Firemen Manish Kumar and Amit Kumar, are stable and continuing their recovery under close medical supervision.

Personnel from the State Disaster Response Force together with high-ranking police officers are overseeing the situation directly at the venue.

Outlining the next steps, the official declared that a comprehensive inquiry into the cause of the fire is currently underway alongside standard legal procedures.
