Kyiv, August 4: At least 22 individuals lost their lives across regional borders following intense fire exchanges over a two-day period, official sources confirmed.
Casualty reports indicate that fatalities were divided equally, with 11 deaths reported within Ukrainian territories and 11 recorded within Russian border areas.
Regional officials in Ukraine reported that Russian strikes hit a petrol station in the Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, causing three deaths, including a rescue worker and his young son. Dnipropetrovsk Governor Oleksandr Hanzha stated that the attack triggered a massive fire that engulfed surrounding vehicles. In a separate overnight incident in Zaporizhzhia, eight additional individuals, including two children, were killed.
Providing updates on incidents within Russian-controlled areas, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev maintained that fallen drone debris in the seaside village of Arkhipo-Osipovka resulted in seven deaths, including three children, alongside nearly 40 injured individuals.
Additionally, regional leader Sergey Aksyonov affirmed that four further civilian fatalities occurred across border settlements in Crimea during recent shelling.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defence declared that its forces secured control over the settlements of Bilyi Kolodiaz and Uspenivka in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region during concurrent military operations.
