CHANDIGARH, August 31 — To strengthen technological infrastructure and modernize crime resolution, Haryana Police announced the creation of an Artificial Intelligence Task Force led by an IPS-rank officer. The force is developing several key digital solutions, including an in-house Grievance Management System and a Court Returns Portal, designed to render data processing and follow-up actions more systematic.
The initiative builds upon the department’s existing digital ecosystem that delivers public-facing services across the state. Director General of Police Ajay Singhal declared that as technological adoption by criminal elements grows, law enforcement must continually upgrade its capabilities. He noted that artificial intelligence serves as a vital component in establishing data-driven policing methods while reinforcing the foundational role of human expertise.
A primary area of focus for the task force includes tackling complex cybercrime networks. Highlighting the scale of digital evidence in modern cases, Superintendent of Police, Cyber, Mayank Gupta stated that manually examining mobile records and financial transactions remains a time-intensive process. The development of AI-assisted financial trail analysis will assist officers by mapping complex monetary flows and highlighting critical connections rapidly. This shift reduces the initial time spent on raw data processing, freeing investigators to dedicate greater effort toward suspect interrogations and fundamental investigative duties.
