Jalandhar/Ludhiana, SEPT 13: The governance landscape in the state faces new friction as the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha started a widespread five-day demonstration outside the offices and residences of prominent public representatives, including state party leadership and cabinet ministers. This development follows recent administrative district demonstrations and border protests, expanding the footprint of agricultural advocacy across the region.
Leadership representatives asserted that current seasonal issues regarding paddy inputs are part of a larger structural movement. Sarwan Pandher stated that the organization remains open to serious administrative dialogue, though future strategies will be finalized during scheduled committee meetings on September 16.
The scope of the movement extends to systemic agrarian requests, such as crop procurement guarantees, farm debt mitigation, and updated natural resource management policies. The group has also expressed concerns regarding land acquisition processes, trade arrangements, and legislative measures affecting electricity and cooperative sectors, adding to the ongoing dialogue between civil groups and the state administration.
