CM Nayab Saini remembers Mrs Inderjit Kaur Harry as a treasure of knowledge

Patiala, September 13: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday remembered Mrs Inderjit Kaur Harry as a repository of knowledge and paid tribute to her contribution to preserving and documenting information for future generations.

The Chief Minister was among a host of prominent religious, political and social personalities who attended the Antim Ardas of Mrs Inderjit Kaur at Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib here. She was the sister of Chardikla Group Chairman Padma Shri Dr Jagjit Singh Dardi, mother of Haryana CM’s OSD Dr Prabhleen Singh and wife of late Harminder Singh Harry.

Describing Mrs Inderjit Kaur as an “encyclopedia” for the present and future generations, Saini said she had read and written extensively and documented a vast amount of information. Her life and intellectual contributions, he said, would continue to serve as a source of knowledge for generations to come.

The Chief Minister said the loss of a mother or an elderly member of a family leaves an irreplaceable void. He underlined the importance of caring for and serving elders, observing that their presence carries immense emotional and spiritual value.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Saini said the occasion was one of profound grief and prayed that the Almighty bless the departed soul with a place at His feet and give the family courage and strength to bear the loss.

The prayer service witnessed the participation of prominent figures from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Those present included Cabinet Minister Dr Balbir Singh, former Jathedar Giani Raghvir Singh, Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Committee president Jathedar Jagjit Singh Jhinda, MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, former Vice-Chancellor Dr Jaspal Singh, former MP Tarlochan Singh, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, MLA Dev Mann, former Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra and former MP Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra.

Former SGPC presidents Professor Kirpal Singh Badungar and Gobind Singh Longowal, religious figures including Baba Raj Singh Kaljharani, Baba No Nihal Singh, Mahant Karamjit Singh and Sant Shamsher Singh Sardulgarh, and Sikh intellectual Professor Balkar Singh also attended the gathering.

Prominent personalities from public life, academia, administration and the entertainment industry, including renowned actors Binnu Dhillon and Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi, Punjabi artist Pammi Bai, Special DGP (Punjab) AS Rai, Dr Raj Nehru, Dr Sarbjinder Singh and Dr Jagdeep Singh, joined the mourners in paying their respects.
