Ruling Party Challenges Visiting Leaders on Past Record

Press briefing highlights long-standing public grievances ahead of political campaigns

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh: State media coordinator Baltej Pannu questioned the moral authority of Congress leaders campaigning in the region, asserting that the party has consistently failed to address critical questions about its past governance. Speaking during an interaction with journalists, Pannu stated that central leaders dispatched to manage state affairs must first address historical actions affecting minority communities before appealing for votes.

Focusing on the unresolved grievances surrounding the 1984 events, Pannu asserted that political protection given to key accused figures over many years has hurt public trust. He maintained that opposition leaders must clarify why such figures were continually retained in prominent positions. Pannu concluded that citizens deserve transparent explanations rather than evasive responses when historical justice and community rights are raised.
