Chandigarh: Over five lakh devotees have availed facilities under the state government’s Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme to visit various holy sites. Announcing the project’s milestones, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond affirmed that the administration remains dedicated to making religious visits accessible and comfortable for senior residents.
Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond maintained that the fleet of ninety-five dedicated luxury buses has successfully conducted twelve thousand four hundred eighty-five trips to date. He stated that following the successful implementation of the primary phase, the government broadened the travel scope last month to cover major pilgrimage centers across neighboring regions, including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Salasar Balaji Dham.
Eligible citizens aged fifty and above receive fully funded air-conditioned transport, structured meals, and comfortable accommodations throughout the tour. To ensure smooth operations during the journey, on-board medical staff accompany the travelers, while local coordination teams handle ground requirements at every site. The minister declared that instructions from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasize seamless execution, offering every traveler safe passage, meals, and souvenir tokens upon the conclusion of their journey.
