Mumbai, Nov 2: A civic awareness initiative regarding pollution-free Diwali celebrations saw selective changes after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation withdrew a video featuring actor Dia Mirza.
The development occurred after BJP leader Ameet Satam publicly questioned the inclusion of the actor’s message on civic channels, maintaining that festival traditions are established in cultural practice.
Within hours of the objection, the civic body adjusted its social media outputs by removing Mirza’s contribution. Other promotional videos created for the same public awareness campaign, including those featuring prominent sports and film personalities, remained published across official channels.
Administrative representatives maintained silence regarding the technical or procedural reasons behind the video’s removal.
