Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Baltej Pannu has hit out at the BJP’s anti-drug campaign, calling on the party to address its past administrative record before launching public marches. Pannu maintained that selective political campaigns overlook the proactive anti-narcotics enforcement currently being executed across the state under the ‘Yudh Nasehan Virudh’ initiative.
Pannu stated that border security and cross-border contraband influx fall under central law enforcement mandates, questioning why central agencies have not halted smuggling channels more aggressively. He affirmed that the current state government has deployed its own anti-drone technology and strengthened local police coordination to disrupt supply networks. He declared that political yatras cannot serve as a substitute for concrete ground-level law enforcement and preventative measures.
Emphasizing state efforts to foster a vibrant sports culture, Pannu declared that youth across urban and rural sectors are actively choosing athletics over substance abuse. He maintained that state investments in over three thousand new playgrounds are providing constructive outlets for local talent, as evidenced by significant regional representation in national cricket and hockey squads. The spokesperson concluded that the administration will continue its multi-pronged strategy combining law enforcement, community rehabilitation, and youth sports development.
