Attack on Federalism; Anil Vij Slams Damage to Himachal Buses

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, March 24- Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij condemned the damage caused to Himachal Pradesh buses in Amritsar, calling it an attempt to weaken the country’s federal structure.

“This is not right. The entire country is ours, and every Indian has the right to every part of it. There should be no sense of division that this belongs to Punjab or that to Himachal. India belongs to all of us,” Vij said. He claimed that such actions were aimed at disturbing the country’s peace.

On the viral video showing Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in tears while a minister was seen laughing, Vij said it exposed the “democratic structure of Congress and its model of governance.” He questioned the state’s financial management under Congress. “Salaries were being paid earlier, and increments were given. What happened that the treasury ran dry as soon as Congress took over?” he asked, accusing the party of depleting state funds.

Responding to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remark that Make in India prioritizes publicity over delivery, Vij countered, “Propaganda happens only when there is delivery. Congress misled the country for 50 years by doing propaganda without delivery.”

He defended the BJP government, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had prioritized development-focused politics and proven it with action. “It is our right to inform people about what he has done,” he added.
