BCCI: No Cricket with Pakistan After Attack

IPL 2025: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla said that India will not play any bilateral cricket against Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13. India last visited Pakistan in 2008. Both teams face each other only during ICC or ACC tournaments. Pakistan last visited India for the ODI World Cup 2023. However, India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 and all the matches of Team India were held in Dubai.

What was said by Rajeev Shukla?

We condemn it and we stand with the victims Rajeev Shukla told Sports Tak.We will adhere to our administration’s instructions. Due to the government’s attitude, we do not play bilateral series with Pakistan. We will also not play bilateral matches with Pakistan in the future. However, we participate in ICC competitions as a result of ICC’s commitments. ICC is also aware of the situation, and it is hoped that they will lend their support.

Additionally Saikia had denounced

Devjit Saikia, secretary of the BCCI, has also voiced his sorrow over the terror assault in Pahalgam. “The tragic death of innocent people in the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam has shocked and saddened the cricket community,” he added. This heinous and cowardly act is severely condemned by BCCI. I pray for the departed souls and offer my sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. We share their sorrow and anguish as we stand with them during this difficult time.

Silence was observed for the Mumbai vs. Hyderabad match

The IPL 2025 match number 41 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad featured an homage from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack. Two foreign nationals were among the 26 individuals killed in this terror incident. There was a 60-second pause before the game began. They invited the onlookers to join in the stillness.

Captains denounced the situation as well

Both teams’ leaders offered their condolences and vehemently denounced this horrible conduct during the toss. Throughout the game, all of the players, referees, commentators, and support personnel donned black armbands. Additionally, the BCCI made the decision to play the match without any fanfare. During the game, there were no cheerleaders. Additionally, there was no celebration with fireworks. Music or DJ was also not arranged.
