New Delhi, July 30: A intense manhunt is underway in northwest Delhi as law enforcement agencies pursue a building caretaker who allegedly shot dead a female co-worker before fleeing the Keshav Puram site.
Specialized units, including crime branch personnel and forensic teams, arrived at the commercial premises on Wednesday night to gather physical evidence and initiate formal investigative procedures following reports of gunfire.
Providing an official update on the ongoing response, Northwest Delhi DCP Akanksha Yadav declared that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law to ensure a comprehensive inquiry into the incident.
The victim had been employed at the local gym for roughly three years, while the 23-year-old suspect, Saurabh, had taken up caretaker duties in the same structure three months prior. Police reports indicate that Saurabh allegedly led the woman to a third-floor space, where an argument subsequently escalated into shooting.
Local occupants rushed toward the gunshot sound, finding the victim critically wounded as the suspect made his exit.
Reflecting on the final attempt to reach his daughter, the victim’s father stated that she customarily called home every evening, though her phone went unanswered on Wednesday.
“Later, we were informed that someone had shot her,” he asserted.
Search operations and targeted raids remain active across multiple locations to bring the fleeing suspect into custody.
