Chandigarh, April 19: To accelerate industrial expansion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has arrived in the Netherlands to pitch Punjab as the premier investment destination in North India. The trade mission is designed to attract foreign direct investment by highlighting the state’s progressive policy ecosystem and its successful history of collaboration with Dutch firms.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state is ready to welcome global corporations with a focus on speed and transparency. Punjab will emerge as a preferred global investment destination with stable policies and swift decisions, Mann declared. He noted that the visit will specifically target sectors such as alloys, steels, and pharmaceuticals to diversify the state’s industrial base.
The delegation is presenting a detailed overview of the state’s business-friendly environment, including the use of PAN-based business identifiers and auto-deemed approvals. Mann stated that the government has moved toward a governance system that prioritizes the trust of investors. He asserted that the goal is to secure strategic tie-ups that provide long-term benefits for the people of Punjab.
The Netherlands remains a significant investor in the Indian market, and several Dutch entities already operate within Punjab’s industrial clusters. Mann asserted that the functioning of the Indo-Dutch Centre of Excellence for Potato crop serves as a model for future ventures. By showcasing seamless connectivity and a robust infrastructure, the Chief Minister maintained that the state is providing a compelling case for European institutions to bring new capital and technology to the region.
