Alwar, April 30: A devastating vehicle fire claimed the lives of five family members on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Alwar late Wednesday. Local authorities maintained that the family was traveling home to Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, after visiting a religious site when their car was engulfed in flames near Maujpur.
Police officials stated that the high-intensity fire is believed to have started from a short circuit within the vehicle. Because the car utilized a CNG system, the fire escalated almost instantly, preventing the five occupants from escaping the cabin. Deputy Superintendent of Police Kailash Jindal affirmed that the remains recovered from the site have been preserved for forensic DNA analysis.
The driver of the vehicle survived by jumping from the moving car but remains in critical condition. Hospital officials declared that Vinod Kumar Mehar is receiving treatment for severe burns covering 80 percent of his body. After receiving preliminary medical attention, he was referred to an advanced medical center in Jaipur.
Additional Superintendent of Police Priyanka Raghuvanshi declared that the car was fully gutted despite a rapid response from local fire services. The victims included a man, his wife, his mother, and his two young daughters. Law enforcement officials asserted that a full investigation into the mechanical failure is currently underway to confirm the exact cause of the ignition.
