Chandigarh, June 19:The Punjab Police has neutralized multiple high-profile extortion, enforcement efforts
robbery, and narcotics syndicates through an aggressive interstate policing model. Operating under the dedicated ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ initiative, state police units have consistently bypassed conventional jurisdictional limitations to conduct joint raids and share real-time intelligence with forces in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
This unified approach has successfully dismantled major operational arms of prominent gangster syndicates, including extortion modules tied to international handlers. Recent actions include a successful operation by the Khanna Police that neutralized a robbery gang across four northern states, alongside significant contraband seizures executed through close collaboration with neighboring state departments.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav noted that organized crime structures require a modern, multi-jurisdictional response to be effectively dismantled.
“Criminals and anti-national elements often operate across state boundaries, and therefore policing too has to transcend jurisdictions,” the DGP asserted.
He noted that establishing seamless coordination with sister agencies across India remains a core pillar of modern state policing.
The administration maintained that the multi-state strategy has proven highly effective in tracking fugitives who cross borders to escape localized crackdowns. With tens of thousands of offenders apprehended since the launch of the campaign, the department has significantly restricted the movement of illegal weapons and narcotics entering the region. Police officials declared that the state remains fully committed to maintaining long-term stability and harmony through these sustained, coordinated enforcement measures.
