Chandigarh: The Punjab government has finalized a time-bound operational plan to streamline the distribution of Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana cards across all districts. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh declared that 33 lakh health cards are being processed for distribution, marking a key step forward in the Bhagwant Mann administration’s universal health initiative.
The state has designated 2,008 specific village and ward locations with high beneficiary density to host centralized distribution camps. Field workers will inform eligible families in advance to ensure high participation during the one-week camp window following the project’s official inauguration by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
To cover remaining households and lower-density areas, the health department has structured a comprehensive door-to-door mechanism. ASHA workers and facilitators will execute home visits, supported by a performance-based incentive system where workers receive 10 rupees per successfully delivered card and facilitators receive 2 rupees.
District health officials have been instructed to maintain strict logs of the door-to-door distribution to process incentive claims and track coverage metrics. The overall campaign aims to finalize all health card deliveries within a fortnight of concluding the initial camp-based drive, ensuring no eligible beneficiary is left out.
