Phagwara: A residential home in Phagwara’s Chapar Colony became the target of an early morning petrol bomb attempt on September 19, sparking fear among local inhabitants. Three unidentified, masked assailants operating a motorcycle threw petrol-filled glass bottles at the house in Basant Nagar around 3 am before escaping. The location falls under the jurisdiction of Satnampura Police Station in Kapurthala district.

Homeowner Ravi Kumar stated that family members were inside the house during the attack, confirming that no one sustained injuries. He noted that despite informing police control within minutes of the assault, law enforcement personnel only visited the scene later during the day on September 19. Kumar appealed to senior police officers to ensure accountability and track down the culprits.

Neighborhood residents voiced apprehension regarding overall security in the area, asserting that prior warnings regarding unfamiliar individuals roaming the locality had gone unaddressed. The community has demanded an immediate probe using local surveillance footage, swift apprehension of the suspects, and reinforced security measures to protect residents. Police registration of a formal case remained pending as of reporting time.
