Mumbai, Sept 20: A high-speed road accident on the Mumbai Coastal Road resulted in three fatalities and left one occupant critically injured early Sunday morning.
Police officials reported that the northbound vehicle lost control near Lotus Jetty opposite Lala Lajpatrai College while moving at high speed along the Marine Drive to Haji Ali route at 5:20 AM.
All four passengers were transferred to Nair Hospital, where doctors pronounced three individuals dead upon arrival. Among the deceased, police identified 21-year-old Shanay Gajjal and 17-year-old Dhirya Seth, while process continues to establish the identity of a third male deceased aged around 25.
Medical personnel continue to treat the surviving occupant, a 20-year-old male, who sustained severe trauma and remains in critical condition. Law enforcement authorities have secured the location and launched a comprehensive investigation into the factors leading to the accident on the coastal corridor.
