Kaithal Anti-Narcotics Raid Disrupts Cross-Border Supply Web

Ferozepur Resident Detained Following Major Highway Contraband Interception

KAITHAL, JUNE 8 — A coordinated tracking operation by Haryana’s CIA-1 division has dismantled an inter-state narcotics channel with the arrest of a Punjab-based supplier linked to a recent hundred-gram heroin haul. Police teams tracked suspect Gurmel Singh to his home district of Ferozepur after detaining three courier operatives during a targeted highway blockade earlier in the week.

The legal tracking stems from an initial June 4 vehicle inspection in the Guhla sector, where municipal patrollers found 100.05 grams of high-grade heroin concealed inside a private transport vehicle.

“Acting on a secret tip-off, the police set up a checkpoint, and the accused were arrested while travelling in a vehicle,” noted a Kaithal police administrative representative, tracking the case back to the three initial couriers caught near Khushhal Majra.

The logistical structure of the network reordered the priority of the investigation, pushing Haryana agents across the state border to target the upstream supply chain. Working under the supervision of Superintendent Manpreet Singh Sudan, investigators verified that the Cheeka-based couriers were moving product directly obtained from Singh’s Ferozepur hub.

“Acting on the leads, the police arrested Gurmel Singh and recovered Rs 10,000 as drug money from his possession,” a district spokesperson stated following the raid.

Judicial officials processed the Ferozepur resident through the local court system, approving immediate transit into a regional jail facility. The police department maintained that financial auditing teams have begun tracking the suspect’s local bank accounts to identify further assets derived from the illegal drug trade.
