MOGA, SEPT 18: A major violent escalation was prevented in Moga after police teams raided a location in Nihal Singh Wala, detaining five armed individuals associated with opposing local groups. The operation led to the recovery of eight weapons and over a hundred rounds of live ammunition.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sartaj Singh Chahal maintained that police forces set up checkpoints after receiving confidential inputs about rival members assembling at Dana Mandi with lethal arms. Intercepted suspects hailing from various districts across the state were taken into custody without incident.
The recovered arsenal comprised two pump-action rifles, three high-caliber rifles, four handguns, multiple ammunition magazines, and one hundred six cartridges, alongside two black SUVs. Law enforcement leaders stated that detailed interrogations are underway to establish forward and backward linkages, locate the original source of the armaments, and determine if additional accomplices were involved in planning the assault.
