Lucknow, October 31: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a state-wide employment and skilling initiative on Saturday, dedicating the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Kaushal Prashikshan Evam Rozgar Kshetra Vikas Yojana to the nation on the leader’s 151st birth anniversary. Designed to transform youth potential into sustainable economic growth, the project will establish integrated Skill and Employment Zones in every UP district, beginning with a five-city launch in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Jhansi, and Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Under this umbrella scheme, candidates seeking job opportunities—including those interested in healthcare, manufacturing, and technical fields—will receive integrated counseling, domain skilling, and job placement support. For overseas aspirants, language instruction and country-specific vocational modules will be integrated into the curriculum. Key regional authorities, such as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), are collaborating with industrial entities to construct and operationalize the facilities.
During his address, CM Yogi underscored the importance of integrating skill development directly with academic education, citing recent policy changes that allow students to pursue skilling certifications alongside degree programs. He reiterated the state’s commitment to building a secure, industry-friendly environment capable of retaining local talent.
Criticizing past governance, the Chief Minister maintained that previous regimes treated the state’s youth population as a burden while patronizing lawlessness that stalled industrial growth. He credited transparent governance, digital infrastructure, and initiatives like ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) with revitalizing UP’s economic standing, declaring that empowering the state’s youth remains the truest tribute to Sardar Patel’s vision of a unified and strong India.
