NEW DELHI, July 30 — Outlining safety protocols for Indian workers abroad, the Ministry of External Affairs detailed multi-layered assistance mechanisms deployed across the Middle East following regional conflicts and industrial accidents. In a statement presented to the upper house, MoS External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh declared that consular offices collaborated closely with aviation authorities to arrange commercial and non-scheduled flights once regional airspaces partially reopened.
The Minister maintained that diplomatic missions assisted stranded citizens in acquiring transit visas to travel through neighboring territories when direct flights were unavailable.
“Upon partial opening of airspace across the region, government facilitated a number of commercial flights, including non-scheduled operations,” stated Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh during parliamentary proceedings.
The government operates a continuous monitoring framework through the ministry’s Rapid Response Cell, utilizing 24×7 control rooms and advisories to ensure citizen safety. Official channels confirmed that insurance claims for affected seafarers are being actively pursued with vessel placement agencies and international underwriters.
