Awareness Drive Targets Fog-Season Accidents

by TheReportingTimes

Ludhiana, November 8 — In a bid to curb winter-season road accidents, Ludhiana police have launched a fog safety campaign in collaboration with media representatives, officials said on Friday.

Under the supervision of ACP (Traffic) Jatin Bansal, police teams are affixing reflector tapes to heavy vehicles, tractors, and auto-rickshaws to enhance their visibility in low-light and fog conditions.

The initiative comes as part of the police’s broader road safety plan that also includes strict enforcement drives against wrong-side driving, red-light jumping, and illegal parking.

Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma said, “Fog-related accidents can be drastically reduced if all drivers take basic precautions. Reflector tapes are an inexpensive yet life-saving measure.”

Police officials said awareness drives will continue across key routes and transport hubs over the coming weeks, alongside strict action against motorists who flout safety norms.
