Shambu Blast: Terror module busted by Patiala Police

Accused linked to Malaysia-based handlers and Pakistan arms suppliers

Patiala, April 28: Four men with multiple criminal records were taken into custody on Tuesday as Patiala Police uncovered a terror network with deep international links. The arrests follow the late-night explosion on the railway tracks near Shambhu, an incident that officials now say was a calculated attempt by this module to disrupt public property and infrastructure.

SSP Varun Sharma declared that the arrested men, identified as Pardeep Singh Khalsa, Kulwinder Singh, Satnam Singh, and Gurpreet Singh, were planning a series of attacks across the region. He stated that the recovery of a hand grenade and live ammunition suggests the group was prepared for large-scale operations. “They were planning further attacks on public infrastructure and properties,” the SSP affirmed during a press briefing.

DIG Kuldeep Chahal noted that the network’s influence extended to Malaysia, where Khalsa allegedly sent radicalised youths for specialised training. He declared that the module used high-tech communication tools to coordinate with Pakistan-based suppliers for their weaponry. Police officials maintained that the timely arrest of these individuals has successfully disrupted a dangerous chain of command aimed at compromising the state’s security and peace.
