Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party Punjab leadership criticized Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal for skipping his scheduled appearance before the Special Investigation Team probing the sacrilege and police firing incidents. Party Spokesperson Ranbir Singh Dhindsa asserted that Badal’s repeated absence demonstrates a lack of seriousness toward delivering justice in the Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura firing cases.

Highlighting contradictions in the former Home Minister’s statements, Dhindsa declared that court records from Faridkot and Badal’s own legal filings refute his previous assertion of being abroad during the incident. Instead, records indicate he remained in a five-star hotel with continuous telephone access to senior police officials throughout that night, making him directly accountable for the administrative actions taken.

Dhindsa maintained that the SAD chief’s evasion is tied to assurances received from political leaders in Delhi who promised safety from legal prosecution. In return for political protection, the AAP leader stated, the Akali Dal leadership has sacrificed vital regional priorities and aligned with central policy stances affecting the state’s agricultural sector.

The party spokesperson urged citizens across Punjab to question the Badals regarding their shifting stances on Panthic matters and regional rights. He affirmed that political maneuvers will not prevent the truth regarding the sacrilege incidents from ultimately reaching the public domain.
