Udhampur, Sept 17: Security forces neutralised two terrorists during a targeted joint operation in the Brattal area of Udhampur district, the Army’s White Knight Corps declared.
The counter-terrorism effort, designated as Operation Sohan, was initiated during the intervening night of September 16 and 17 following precise intelligence regarding terrorist presence in the locality. Personnel from the White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force executed the coordinated action despite challenging weather, rugged terrain, and limited visibility.
Following the tactical engagement, security personnel recovered arms and ammunition from the encounter site. Surveillance and search operations maintain momentum across the surrounding terrain to eliminate any residual security threats, while official efforts proceed to establish the identities of the slain individuals.
The engagement followed heightened vigilance in the region after security personnel observed suspicious activity in the Majalta area on Wednesday evening, prompting initial precautionary fire and intensified patrolling.
