NEW DELHI, AUGUST 3: Political party founder Abhijeet Dipke addressed recent questions surrounding his foreign education, asserting that his academic expenses in the United States were met through a Boston University scholarship and personal student loans. In a televised discussion with senior journalist Barkha Dutt, Dipke produced his scholarship documentation, declaring that his family’s financial background was incorrectly portrayed and affirming that the loan liability rests entirely on him.
The clarification came after Surat-based activist Amit Tiwari filed formal representations with administrative authorities and the Maharashtra government on August 1. Tiwari questioned the financial feasibility of overseas education based on the recorded monthly income of Dipke’s father, a former junior engineer with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation.
Addressing financial management within the Cockroach Janta Party, Abhijeet Dipke declared that the organization will function strictly on verified public donations. Citing the community-driven nature of recent anti-NEET paper leak protests, he asserted that members of the public provided essential provisions independently. He affirmed that on-duty Delhi Police officers expressed silent support by distributing water to protesters due to their own families’ involvement in competitive exams.
The scrutiny extends to the party’s legal support network after senior advocate Kapil Sibal established a Rs 1 crore legal defense fund for detained activists, prompting Tiwari to seek an Election Commission review of the party’s registration and funding mechanisms.
Defending the party leadership, CJP spokesperson Vaishnavi Gaur stated that the petitions represent targeted political criticism. She declared that public attention should remain focused on accountability in major public funds rather than the private academic records of individuals.
