Chandigarh, Sept 20: The Enforcement Directorate presented a status report to the Punjab and Haryana High Court detailing its preliminary investigation into land acquisition proceedings undertaken by the Punjab Cricket Association.
Senior advocates appearing on behalf of the association officials maintained that the bench should first adjudicate upon objections concerning the maintainability of the petition. Conceding to the procedural aspect, the court directed the investigating agency to submit the status report to the court Registry accompanied by an official affidavit.
The proceedings follow earlier challenges connected to complaints reviewed by the organizational Ombudsman. The High Court adjourned the matter, scheduling the next formal hearing for October 13 to hear further arguments from the involved parties.
