AMRITSAR, MAY 6  — Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav has warned of a persistent threat from anti-national forces attempting to portray Punjab as a “disturbed state” through targeted explosions. During a visit to the Khasa area on Wednesday, the DGP asserted that the use of an IED near the Army Cantonment wall is a clear indication of a planned attempt to target key security installations.

Yadav stated that Pakistan’s ISI is actively circulating videos and utilizing social media to radicalize youth and incite violence against police and military establishments. He affirmed that the recent blasts in the state are a manifestation of these cross-border designs, timed to exploit significant dates like the anniversary of Operation Sindoor.

“Pakistan-based elements are attempting to create a false narrative… luring youth and circulating videos of grenades before targeting vital installations,” the DGP declared. He maintained that the Punjab Police, in coordination with the Army and BSF, are reviewing all security measures in the border districts to prevent further occurrences.

While the DGP visited the blast site to review the progress of the technical investigation, he emphasized that the state remains on high alert. He noted that multiple teams are examining forensic samples and human intelligence to trace the origin of the IEDs used in both Amritsar and Jalandhar. He concluded by asserting that the police force remains committed to neutralizing the efforts of anti-national forces and ensuring the safety of the state’s residents.
